    Mach was pleased to sponsor Medaille College's Annual Founder's Day Celebration this year!  The event raises money for scholarships for Medaille students and was held at the Lexus Club at First Niagara Center.

    Unveiling New Design for MacKenzie at Alfred State College

    Mach's newest residence hall design was recently unveiled at Alfred State College to students, staff, faculty and administration on May 9th.  MacKenzie Complex, the campuses largest residence hall, will undergo a phased renovation with construction beginning early this fall. Doug Schaefer, AIA, principal, and Robert Brunner, Assoc. AIA, associate of Mach Architecture are leading the project.

    Mach's holiday party at the end of 2015 involved a friendly competition among all of the staff...  Racing cars at Pole Position Raceway in the Walden Galleria.  Coming in first was Doug Schaefer, AIA, principal of Mach.

  • 3rd Annual AIA BEP Holiday Food Drive

    December 2015Mach was one of many local architecture firms that participated in the 3rd Annual AIA Buffalo Emerging Professionals Holiday Food Drive.  Volunteers from the BEP and Young & Wright Architectural spent a day driving around WNY to collect food donations from area architectural firms to benefit the Food Bank of WNY.  Donations this year amounted to 1,431 pounds of food - double the previous year's donations.

  • Summer 2014 Construction Updates - Continuing change to the face of residence halls

    Mason Hall is the fourth residence hall renovation at SUNY Plattsburgh as part of a residence hall master plan. Preceded by deFredenburgh,Hood and Harrington Halls and led by Partner, Doug Schaefer, the scope at Mason similarly reflects upgraded mechanicals, modernized interior and improved energy efficiency. Further south at Purchase College, the focus of the renovations are primarily throughout the bathroom facilities.

    After 4 years in design and construction, the UAlbany Main Fountain and Water Tower is nearly complete. The goal of this project was to redesign the fountain, hardscape and lighting and update systems while enhancing the original design of Edward Durell Stone.     On October 1, Mach VP Brian Kelley presented at the 2013 ERAPPA Regional Conference in Rochester, New York. Inspired by the recent demand to bring outdated residence halls up to modern standards and code, the title of the presentation was: "Residence Hall Retrofit: A project to Reuse, Renew, Revive, Recycle, Recruit and Retain". The focal point of the presentation was the recently completed SUNY Geneseo Monroe Hall.

    The iconic UAlbany water tower earned a nomination for “Tank of the Year” by Tnemic Coatings. This high profile architectural feature is the center of the newly renovated podium and water fountains project started by Mach Architecture in 2010. As a first runner up finalist with 994, the University of Albany tower is featured in the 2014 Tnemic Tanks Calendar.
