Kent Hall at SUNY Plattsburgh welcomed students for the fall semseter

Construction on Kent Hall began June 2019 and was completed in August for the Fall 2020 semester.  The renovation of Kent Hall supported the College’s need to provide alternative housing options for upper class students. The traditional double-loaded corridor rooms was reconfigured into private suites containing living space and private bathrooms. Floor lounges were provided with a full kitchen as well as upgraded study and recreational space. A large instructional and demonstration kitchen has been included in the first-floor lounge for student use and residence life programming. All interior finishes have been upgraded, and air conditioning added for year-round use.

Site work for this project included the renovation of the front plaza to complement and complete the community design started with adjacent Mason and Macomb Halls. The project scope also included the replacement of windows and the addition of an elevator.

In conjunction with the campus food service department, a new deli / café has been located at the ground floor to serve students, staff, and faculty and opens to an outdoor seating and dining area overlooking the Saranac River.
